Heavy Whipping Cream Substitute

There are a few different ways to go about choosing a substitute recipe for heavy whipping cream. If heavy whipping cream doesn’t agree with you go the cornstarch route. I tried this for my Butterfingers Creme Brûlée.

You’ll need 1 cup milk per cup of heavy whipping cream required. Whisk 2 T cornstarch in, once combined whisk 1 T flour in still smooth.

Whisk 3/4 c milk and 1/3 c room temperature butter. Makes 1 cup. This one does not work if needing to whip.

Other way include:

Chilled evaporated milk

Low Fat Cream cheese

Powder milk

and many others
