Snickerdoodle Bars

Recipe came from


  • 1 c Butter or shortening (I went for shortening), room temp
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 c Sour cream
  • 2 c Flour
  • 1 t Baking soda
  • 1 t Baking powder
  • 1 t Tarter
  • 1/2 t Salt
  • 1/3 c Sugar
  • 1 T Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar. Add an egg at a time scraping down the sides. Mix in the sour cream.

In another bowl mix the flour, soda, baking powder a, salt and cream of tarter.

Slowly mix flour mixture into the batter just till combined.

Grease  the bottom and an inch up the sides of a 9×11 pan. Combine the cinnamon and sugar and cover the greased pan with it. Spread batter in to the pan and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top. Bake 20-25 minutes.
Im a little special and forgot an egg. But the bars still tuned out nice, very soft. They did end up taking almost 35 minutes. Next time Ill do the recipe right and see how different they turn out.
